The College and Graduate School of Arts & Sciences launched a search for an Associate Dean for Diversity and Inclusion in June 2018. As a newly created role, and under the direction of the Dean of Arts & Sciences, the Associate Dean for Diversity and Inclusion will lead the development and implementation of strategies to build and sustain a culture of inclusion in Arts & Sciences, ensuring a diverse, equitable, and inclusive community of students, staff, and faculty.

On October 23, 2018, Arts & Sciences announced the appointment of Keisha John as the College's first Associate Dean for Diversity and Inclusion.
