Grand opening of Shannon Library
All are welcome to join on April 4 for a grand opening celebration of The Edgar Shannon Library!
An open house, with activities from various library areas and departments, will take place from noon to 4 p.m. Activities will include interactive demonstrations, special displays of Library collections, virtual reality, and more!
Remarks will begin at 4 p.m., and speakers include University Librarian John Unsworth, UVA President Jim Ryan, Senator Creigh Deeds, Vice Rector Carlos Brown, Professor Larry Sabato, Professor Emeritus Jerome McGann, and Lois Shannon, of the Edgar Shannon family. The public is welcome to stay for a reception afterwards in the Z Society Reading Room on the second floor.
