Thirteen students from the College and Graduate School of Arts & Sciences have been invited to join student leaders from around the world at next month’s Clinton Global Initiative University meeting in Coral Gables, Fla.

The eighth annual conference, hosted by former U.S. president Bill Clinton and his daughter Chelsea Clinton, will bring together more than 1,000 student students to discuss “Commitments to Action” they made to address global challenges across five focus areas: education; environment and climate change; peace and human rights; poverty alleviation; and public health.

More than $900,000 in funding opportunities will be available to select students at the conference to help them put their ideas into action. The Clinton Global Initiative University meeting will take place at the University of Miami, March 6-8.

Students invited to this year’s meeting will participate in plenary sessions and other special events allowing them to network with peers from other universities, topic experts and university representatives. On the last day of the meeting, attendees will participate in a “Day of Action” in the local community.

Clinton Global Initiative University is an offshoot of the Clinton Global Initiative that brings together world leaders to address global challenges.
